Breast cancer is on the rise in Kashmir, an average of 2 deaths per day

From the statistics of the last five-six years, the number of women suffering from breast cancer is increasing dangerously. According to a newly released government report, at least 732 women will die of breast cancer in Jammu and Kashmir in 2023. This number has been increasing over the past few years.

This incident has multiplied the concern of the Jammu and Kashmir administration as well as the common people. Statistics show that a total of 2,240 women died of breast cancer in Jammu and Kashmir from 2019 to 2023. The five-year statistics show that the number of deaths in 2019 was 654. The number of deaths due to breast cancer in 2023 is 732. The issue has taken another dimension as the death toll has jumped past 700. According to doctors, not only the number of deaths is increasing, but the number of infected is also on the rise. In 2019, the number of infected was 1 thousand 763. It has increased continuously in the last five years and in 2023 it stands at 1 thousand 967.
